Happy Canada Day!
June 25th, 2008 by Diane Sam
Happy Canada Day or Fête du Canada (July 1) to all our Canadian customers and friends!
"God keep our land .... Glorious and Free!"
Oh Canada... over 7000 kilometres separate us from coast to coast to coast, we put up with the weather, drink moose milk from snow banks, chase bears out of our back yards (ask me about that one), and post up silly moose/mountie graphics ... so God only knows after 141 years of Confederation how we keep it all together and prosperous, but we do, and we love our country and believe in its ideals. Let's keep it that way, eh?
Have fun this Canada day - go to a park, hang out with the family and appreciate the splendour and beauty of this great country!
Oh... and take along a MoBoleez breastfeeding hat - they are great for sun protection, and will keep you and baby much cooler than a bulky nursing cover!

Breastfeeding in Canada: More info for the Curious ....
The current initiation rate in Canada is about 73 percent (according to Health Canada). Frankly quite low when compared to the rest of the world, and not much more than we were 5 years ago! (see LaLeche League for more info).Breastfeeding trends vary across Canada, rates are higher in the west and they drop off from Quebec to the east. Although the duration of breastfeeding has also increased since the 1960s, currently only 31 percent of infants are breastfed for six months or longer and 24 percent are breastfed for seven months or longer.
